In 16th century England, a small group of survivors, including dark-skinned people such as gypsies, are facing total annihilation due to the recently enacted "Egyptian laws". Desperate to escape, they make their way to the coast where local salt miners promise to smuggle them onto a ship bound for the mainland in exchange for a hefty reward. However, when a forbidden love blossoms between the foster daughter of the chief salt miner and the dark-skinned Ramy, their plans are thrown into chaos - putting the lives of the refugees in grave danger.

As tensions rise and the threat of death looms over them, the group must navigate treacherous waters both on land and at sea. With betrayal and violence lurking around every corner, they must rely on their wits and courage to survive. "Pigalle" is a gripping tale of love, loss, and resilience in the face of oppression, set against the backdrop of a society torn apart by prejudice and fear.
